Are we simply created — products of a reality that runs without our input — or are we co-creators, shaping the very field we appear inside? The Created vs Co-Creators thread names the spectrum between those poles, and treats the movement along it as the heart of the awakening. It links closely to lucid co-creation and to consciousness evolution.
The two poles
At one end is pure createdness: we are made, placed, and carried, with no say in the script. Much of the map's control-systems material lives near this pole — the sense of being acted upon. At the other end is full co-creation: reality as clay, awareness as the sculptor. Most traditions that take the question seriously land somewhere in the middle, and treat waking up as a shift toward the co-creator end.
Where the map stands
The grounded version needs no metaphysics: attention is selective, belief shapes behaviour, and expectation genuinely alters what a person notices and does — so we co-author our experienced world even if not the atoms. The stronger claim — that focused mind directly reshapes external events — is the speculative leap, and the map marks it as one. Even wisdom traditions that call us made in a creator's image tend to grant us a share of the creating.
Created and co-creator need not be rivals. The map reads the awakening as remembering that being made and helping to make were always the same story, told from two ends.
